I have been on the net since 1982, and was a Usenet news administrator in the mid-80's. I am a founder member of Group-Advice, set up in 1991 to assist in the process of creating new Usenet news groups, and the author of the Usenet naming guidelines.
I am one of the initial signatories to the 'Boycott Internet Spam!' Campaign at spam.abuse.org, and edit the "Other Voices" section of its web site.
My RL interests include wine and UK politics. I am a former District Councillor, am active locally in Harlow, and until recently was the Regional Treasurer for the Eastern Region Liberal Democrats.
I work as a senior consultant in the telecoms industry.
